Before I came to
Shekinah Homeschool Centre, I have picked up many bad habits in my previous
school. Jesus was there guiding me when I came. The teachers were kind. Every
morning, we have devotion class. The teachers teach us many things and show us
scripture verses that inspire us. Sometimes, the pastor or a church member will
lead us in devotion. Slowly, some of my bad habits go away.
God was there all the
time. We prayed for tables, computers, experiment things, and more. God
answered our prayers. There were kind people who gave us these things. Without
God’s help, these things wouldn’t have come.
The friends are good
as well. Sometimes, I play board games with my classmates during lunchtime. I
believe that Jesus is the one that planned for me to study in this school.
A.O. (Age 14)
God gives me
understanding. God gives me knowledge. God gives me wisdom. I learn new things.
I learn to sit properly. I learn to pray. I learn to write testimony. I learn
to memorize scripture. I learn vocabs. I learn arts. I learn how to read the
Bible. I learn to obey my parents. I learn to obey God. I learn about God.
D.L. (Age 11)
When I first came to
Shekinah Homeschool Centre, I was not excited about it because there were only
seven students. What a boring place, I thought. Several months later, I started
to enjoy the school more, although it is still small. I have made new friends.
We often talk, eat, and play.
Y.Y. (Age 15)
God spoke to me each
time when I was about to give up. God led me to the right path each time I lost
faith in myself. God offered me His helping hands when I was down. He is the
Creator, the Author, and Heavenly Father. I testify of the goodness of God. God
has changed me over the past few years. He brought me to Christ. I was engulfed
by his love and presence.
W.H. (Age 17)
God has brought in
many students and answered all our prayers. He helped us to go to the right
shops to get our resources. He sent people who were generous in giving. We
received tables, books, cabinets, and science equipment.
Kewynn (Age 9)
I believe that God
really blessed me and helped me throughout the previous five months. God
blessed me by helping me, and teaching me. I believe God will continue to help
me in the future. God has a wonderful plan for everyone, even me. Just like
Joseph (Genesis 37-50). God had a wonderful plan for Joseph. Though I may have
many difficulties, God is with me. God will never abandon me.
G.C. (Age 7)
Six years ago, I
dropped out of a homeschool centre and decided to study at home. However, what
started out as a temporary plan turned into a few years. Without guidance or
help, I started to lose motivation. My study was going nowhere. I went into repeating
cycles of trying, failing, and giving up.
Early this year, my
family decided that I should go back to school. We looked up many schools but
they were either too far, too expensive, or we were too late. One day, my
friend told me about S.H.C. It was new, and I wasn’t sure.
Somehow, I got
enrolled (Yay!). At the moment, my study has not improved as fast as I had
hoped. But I am progressing.
K.R. (Age 17)
The most important
thing that I have learnt since attending this school is the power of prayer.
The furniture, science equipment, and even the students are examples of how God
has answered our prayers. We only had to pray; God made it possible, and it
came to pass in His timing. I have also learned many new things through
studying the bible during devotion. I believe that God has many wonderful
things in store for Shekinah Homeschool Centre. As Teacher Ruth always says,
there is so much more to school than just our Lifepacs.
Kelynn (Age 12)
I was a ‘bad’ student
when I was in a school in Andalas. I didn’t study, and I got involved in
fighting. My cousin, Asher, asked me why I don’t study. I said I can’t remember
well and it is pointless. I chose to give up.
Asher told me that people who chose not to give up will one day succeed,
whereas people who chose to give up will fail. Asher also told me that God will
not give up on me. I asked him who is God. He explained that Jesus is God. He
loves us. He is always with us, taking care of us, protecting us, and helping
us.
Eventually, I believed
in Jesus. My uncle, Asher’s dad, asked if I want to study in SHC. I am
surprised by myself that I said yes and he helped to get me enrolled.
SHC is a very good
school. The teachers love us. They help us, teach us and guide us even when we
made mistake or misbehaved. The students help one another and always bear with
each other. We don’t fight or quarrel. We learn to treat everyone with kindness.
We even share and enjoy the class duties.
When one of our
birthdays is approaching, the teachers will help us to prepare cakes and
surprise card together. There is so much love. I remember we children did the
same on Teacher’s Day and the teachers were so happy and touched. I thank God
for bringing me to such a wonderful school which is full of love. I believe
this is God’s plan for me. I love God.
